‘Such initiatives vindicate Mehbooba Mufti’s pro-women stand’

Srinagar, Mar 20: The ruling People’s Democratic Party on Monday hailed the government over its various pro-people initiatives including the recent measure of raising stipend of widows and destitute and handicapped  in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The government has raised the monthly stipend of destitute widows and the women reeling under extreme poverty from Rs 200 to Rs 1000 from April 2016.

PDP Srinagar district president and MLC, Muhammad Khurshid Aalam while hailing the government for its measures of ending the plight of thousands of destitute women in the state, has said that the initiative shall prove as a major of sigh of relief to the perturbed people of the state.

“The Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti since assuming charge of state’s top post has prioritized the pro-women initiatives and putting lid over the sufferings of destitute women such a measure has been vindicated her stand,” Aalam said.

While asking people to take maximum benefits from the government schemes, Aalam said transparency and end of partiality is being ensured at all levels so that the deserving people could get their due share for the government’s all pro-people schemes.

He also hailed the serious efforts put forth by Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings and Science & Technology, Sajad Gani Lone and Minister of State for Health &Medical Education, Social Welfare and Housing & Urban Development, Asiea Naqash in implementing the scheme on ground.
