BUDGAM, APRIL 20: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements put in place for forthcoming auspicious occasion of Mairaj-ul-Aalam.
The meeting held threadbare discussions to ensure better facilities to devotees in the district particularly at Peth Mukhama Beerwah, Pakherpora, and Charari Sharief where large gathering of devotees are expected to pay their obeisance.
The DC directed the concerned to make arrangements of uninterrupted power supply, potable drinking water, medical facilities, cleanliness in and around the shrines and main mosques, transportation facilities for the devotees, parking of vehicles, deployment of fire tenders, and adequate supply of food grains.
Officials of Animal Husbandry Department were asked to provide poultry birds at 10 percent concessional rates on Government approved rates at identified locations in the district to consumers during festive days. The Municipal authorities were asked to undertake pre and post festival sanitation and cleanliness drives especially at religious places.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner impressed the officers to work in coordination for smooth celebration of the festival. He also asked them to intensify market checking to keep a check on profiteering, hoarding and black marketing.
